You don't think you're being unscrupulous?.There is a quarrel or a misunderstanding here that you can help with, between an over-pricing merchant and a priestess who is trying to reason with him (though you'd need to have learned at least lv.3 of the Coercion skill in order to succeed here!).
Nonetheless, you won't get much more out of him, so move on once the conversation has run its course. This guy isn't necessarily rude, but he sure is curt. Why? Because there's too many refugees here, with barely any food to go around (and there's little room left for anyone either). He won't be too talkative, nor will he be forthcoming with much information, but he will advise you to keep moving, and to leave Lothering.
